This personal project was rooted in designing for diversity. Using Etsy as the primary platform, I designed verification badges similar to those found on an X/Twitter account that peoples of specific ethnic backgrounds can apply for. With a Heritage Badge, these artisans can be easily identified by consumers as authentic sellers, allowing them to support these marginalized groups directly on a mainstream platform. The badge comes with a new tab in the seller's bio which they can fill out with their personal interests and experiences as a member of their community, and would include a suggestions tab with other heritage sellers with the same Heritage Badge.
